Zong Glass
As far back as I can remember in this time I have been smoking, I have seen huge bongs with bends in them and zig zags in them and I always thought to myself, “well, that’s more bang for your buck.” The reason I thought this was because if you stretch those bends out straight, that would be a pretty tall bong. I also would come to find out that they were called Zongs and that my theory was correct. That is exactly why these bongs are made this way, to make a larger volume in a shorter piece. I always wanted a Zong, but the problem is most of them looked really cheap and didn’t seem to be of the best quality, but that is because these were not true Zongs. Here in Arizona, an authentic Zong from the actual company who produces the high quality pieces are easily available. That is because we are the home of the Zong.
Yes that’s right, the headquarters of Zong Glass is right here in Arizona. In fact, they have a shop located at 1710 W Southern Ave in Mesa, Zong Smoke and Vape where you can walk in, browse and shop for just about any of your smoking necessities. With over 30 years of experience in glass blowing, the team over at Zong never imports glass to just bake their label on. Every piece that Zong sells is produced by hand, crafted in the heart of the Arizona Desert with quality as the main criteria. Team Zong does not just pile duplicates in a warehouse, they invest time and care into making every piece for every single customer. In fact, this is why they ask that you allow 90 days for delivery of your piece.
When ordering a piece, you can choose from a variety of different options including height, diameter, wall thickness, number of kinks or bends, percs, fuming and All-American colors. The clear glass that is used in all of the original designs is the finest sourced German Schott glass. Every color that Team Zong uses (except full color tubes) are rods from either Glass Alchemy in Oregon or Northstar Glass based out of Colorado. Using these high quality products to make these bongs, Zong makes sure to only produce a product that they would want for themselves. Not only does Zong produce bongs of many sizes with many kinks, but they have other designs as well. Zong makes hand pipes that are convenient for your everyday use of flower or hemp as well as dab straws and Z Rigs that are used to dab concentrates. They also have Zubblers, which is Zongs version of an inline bubbler that is made with their signature kinks as well as Z rollers which is a steam roller with kinks as well.
You may be asking yourself, “why so kinky?” Well, Zong takes pride in being the kinkiest glass in the world and the main reason is as I stated at the beginning, more volume in a smaller piece, but this design also helps prevent spills. The design of these Zongs also prevents splash, so you don’t need to worry about getting water in your mouth when taking a fat rip. These are not only bongs to smoke out of, the care and work they put into each piece makes these functional pieces of art.
Although Zong is located here in Arizona, they are worldwide and have found great success entering the wholesale market. In fact, their wholesale orders have them filling FedEx trucks every two days for shipments around the world. Even with all the success, they are not a very large group. The owner Edwin considers Zong a small company but is looking to expand by adding two more retail locations in Phoenix and by adding some glass blowers to the team. In fact, if you know your way around the torch and are familiar with blowing glass, get in contact with Edwin. He may be able to offer a full time 40 hour position that will pay $1,000 weekly.
Reach out to Edwin, he is a very kind humble dude who is winning over a ton of glass shops and bong lovers in the Southwest and beyond. Zong has been around over 30 years and is only growing as Edwin is only waiting on city approval to open his 2 new locations in Phoenix. If you don’t know how to blow glass, let’s still visit the original shop in Mesa and his new locations when they open and show support to this local company that is definitely an OG in the game. I would also keep an eye peeled on The Cannabis Cactus App, you never know, we may just be teaming up with Zong to bring you guys something nice! Stay high Everyone!
