Spannabis 2024

Spannabis is Europe’s biggest annual cannabis event held in Barcelona, Spain in March. As usual, we attended this year’s rendition to spread some Cactus love and support our friends from Humboldt Seed Co, Blazy Susan and others like Bask Triangle Farms and Flintts Mints.

Spannabis is mostly geared towards cultivators, as the overwhelming majority of vendors and booths are seed banks, growing supplies and chemicals. However, you’ll also find products made from cannabis such as cosmetics, shoes and clothing, building materials, as well as non-psychoactive treats like gummies, canna beer or canna ice cream. We tried the beer; it was yummy.

Lectures are also given during the conference to discuss topics such as cannabis use in herbal medicine, research on its active ingredients, cultivation and consumption, and risk reduction.

Of course, there is also music, beer and food vendors and an overall atmosphere of cannabis enjoyment. Everybody is excited to pick up free samples of seeds and in some cases, a little bud.

No Smoking signs are posted throughout the venue and a friendly message pops over the loudspeaker every 15 minutes or so reminding attendees of the no smoking policy. Nevertheless, you will see plumes of cannabis smoke everywhere you look with blatant unfettered cannabis consumption being the norm.
