October is Menopause Awareness Month, and Revelry is Here to Help

It’s been nearly two years since Arizonans voted to legalize adult-use cannabis. In that time, countless new brands have entered the market, and one is designed with a very specific audience in mind. Revelry Cannabis is an Arizona owned-and-operated brand dosed for women experiencing the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. With the average age of menopause among U.S. women at 51 years old, there is a good chance you know someone experiencing this natural transition.
While one is considered in menopause when they’ve gone 12 months without a menstrual cycle, the phase leading up to menopause – called perimenopause – can stretch 10 years and is often marked with symptoms like hot flashes and trouble sleeping, along with lesser-known symptoms like heart palpitations and thinning hair. Perimenopause can be disruptive to physical and emotional well-being and often forces women to make significant lifestyle changes to accommodate its impact.
When co-founder and industry veteran Lilach Mazor Power realized cannabis might be able to help alleviate these symptoms, she knew that a convenient, precisely dosed, full-spectrum capsule might offer relief. As a veteran in the medical cannabis market and CEO of Mazor Collective, she was often asked by women experiencing perimenopause symptoms whether cannabis might be a solution. “That’s why I knew I needed to create something specifically for women,” Power shared. “I had to figure out how to make the medicinal benefits of cannabis more accessible to women experiencing perimenopause and that’s what Revelry seeks to do.”
The Revelry lineup includes three products, with more in development. The Revelry Day capsules offer ratioed relief with 2.5mg of THC, CBD, CBN and CBG. The combination offers a micro dose intended to have a calming effect while allowing the user to remain alert and engaged. The cannabinoid profile of the Day capsule also boasts anti-inflammatory properties.
Since hormone changes can result in sleep disruption during perimenopause, the Revelry Night capsules pack a punch with a 10mg dose of THC and 10mg dose of CBD to help women enjoy a full night’s sleep. Phoenix advertising executive Sandra Guadarrama-Baumunk decided to try cannabis for her perimenopause symptoms. “I tried all the OTC products, and it really was just a temporary band-aid.” Guadarrama-Baumunk was introduced to Revelry earlier this year. “I have zero hot flashes and I'm a lot less irritable.”
Many women who experience perimenopause and menopause report experiencing vaginal dryness, which, in turn, contributes to painful sex. Revelry CBD Intimacy Oil is a pH-balanced blend of peppermint oil, vanilla and full-spectrum CBD extract that delivers a cooling effect designed to improve blood flow, enhance intimacy, and soothe delicate skin.
Beyond the impact of the products, Power is most excited about what the brand represents, “At Revelry, we’re rebelling against stigma – the stigma associated with aging and how that defines the value of a woman in our society. We’re rebelling against the stigma of cannabis and questioning why alcohol is a socially accepted way to relax, celebrate and foster intimacy with your partner, but a plant is taboo. And, perhaps most of all, we’re rebelling against the idea that life stops here. We believe menopause shouldn’t be a distraction from the life you’ve built. We believe it should be a revelry, a celebration of all you’ve accomplished and all that’s yet to come.”
