Karak Tea | Cannabis Recipe

While working in Qatar a few years ago, I fell in love with the local spiced tea drink, Karak tea. It’s similar to Indian Masala Chai, with a lighter consistency and lighter flavor as it is not as heavily spiced. The main flavor comes from the cardamom, while the cinnamon, ginger and clove are optional yet recommended. Just like masala chai, Karak is great hot or iced. Since this is a milk based tea, you can add flower along with the spices, or add some THC syrup or CBD tincture.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup water

  2. 1-2 tbsp black tea or 2-3 tea bags

  3. 1 cup milk

  4. 4 cardamom pods (crushed)

  5. *1 cinnamon piece

  6. *3 ginger slices

  7. *4 black pepper grains

  8. *2 clove

  9. 1-2 tbsp sugar, to taste

*If you only have cardamom, try it anyway, the cinnamon, ginger and clove are optional, but recommended.

Preparation:

  1. Boil water with cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and clove. Allow to infuse for a few minutes

  2. Add tea and boil for 2 minutes.

  3. Add milk and sugar and simmer for another 5 minutes or so. Stir occasionally

  4. Strain and enjoy!
