Cannabis Legalization 33% Complete
Last month, we reported that 33% of Americans have access to legal cannabis, but what does this really mean? Can we assume that 33% of Americans who wish to have access to cannabis indeed have it? Probably not exactly, but there is still hope. A pessimist might say that this only means that 66% of Americans don’t have access to cannabis, which is true. But, when you look at the overall trend, it is clear that 5 years ago, it was less than 33%. 20 years ago, it was probably close to 5% or 10% and 40 years ago it was basically 0%. So what is the lesson here? The trend is positive, and in 5, 10 or maybe 20 years, we should expect a much higher number. 100% isn’t out of the question.
