Life
Life is precious, right? One must do anything to protect life, right? The real question is “What is life?” As a human race, we seem to be confused about these questions and what they really mean. Antibiotics actively kill life and we have no problem with it. Most people have no problem ending the life of a bug or animal that intends them harm, even if our fear is unfounded. Many mothers understand the preferential feeling of love towards the life that they created, easily sacrificing the life of other beings to protect it. So, when does life become precious or valuable? Is all life precious? These are the kinds of ideas explored in Life. In a time where we must weigh the cost of life caused by the spread of the Covid-19 disease vs. the cost of life caused by economic shutdown combined with social isolation, it seems pertinent to deeply explore the idea of Life as we know it.
